USZ Innovation Pool: doubling innovations together<\/h3><\/div>

The USZ Innovation Pool supports projects with the greatest impact. These projects benefit patients directly. Nowadays many innovations can\u2019t be put into practice because the financial resources are lacking. Together with you we want to double the funds available to make better use of the innovation potential and translate the most promising ideas into tomorrow\u2019s solutions.<\/p>\n<\/div>

The USZ Innovation Pool gets bold ideas off the ground \u2013 ideas that have a direct impact on people\u2019s quality of life. Every year the Innovation Pool manages to support 15 trailblazing projects. But the potential for innovation at USZ is even greater. If more financial resources were available, more researchers could make their vision a reality.<\/p>\n

Thanks to the USZ Foundation\u2019s donors, Andreas G\u00fcntner can do precisely that: make his ideas happen. He\u2019s developing sensors to monitor exhaled breath so that metabolic diseases can be detected at an early stage. He laid the basis as a mechanical engineer at ETH Zurich. To make his innovation available to patients as quickly as possible, he\u2019s now doing research at USZ. His project has enormous potential: In the future the idea is to be able to also diagnose other diseases via the breath.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s extraordinary projects like this that thanks to your support will benefit us all tomorrow. Together with supporting partners, the USZ Foundation intends to make twice as many innovations possible. The goal is to give 15 additional researchers, every year, the freedom to get their bold ideas off the ground.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
