Dr. Monika Jänicke PhD has been elected as the new vice-president of the USZ Foundation with effect 1 June 2023. She holds a PhD in organometallic chemistry and was most recently Managing Director, Pharmaceuticals, for Novartis in its key market of France. There she successfully guided the company through a strategic and organizational transformation process and was able to significantly increase profits. Now she is taking the helm of USZ. She thus replaces Professor Gregor Zünd on the board of the foundation. Professor Zünd, former CEO of USZ, left the university hospital on age grounds and is therefore also stepping down from the USZ Foundation board.
