The USZ Foundation was founded in 2017 with the aim of creating medical innovations that directly improve people’s lives. Now it can look back on a successful second year. The Foundation received 6.3 million Swiss francs in donations from private individuals, foundations, family offices, and companies, and was thus able to support 27 projects at the USZ. Our patrons made this possible. Thank you very much!
“The idea is that patients should benefit as soon as possible from new methods of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment,” says Thomas Wellauer, President of the Foundation Board, summarizing the aspiration. Over the past year, the Foundation has been able to support projects seeking improved diagnostic methods for heart disease and developing even more precise therapies against cancer.
“The USZ Foundation makes a significant contribution by supporting groundbreaking projects at the University Hospital of Zurich and promoting talented junior staff,” says Gregor Zünd, CEO and President of the Hospital Executive Board.
